Ms. Zannin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Chemistry and a second Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She received a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science from Syracuse University. Additionally, she teaches as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and has been named a Visiting Professor at Francisco Marroquin Law School in Guatemala. Prior to entering the Forensics field, Ms. Zannin worked and studied in the medical field for many years.

Ms. Zannin has had the privilege of studying under Dr. Herbert Leon MacDonell, widely recognized as the Father of Bloodstain Pattern Analysis in the Western Hemisphere, during her internship required by the Forensic Chemistry curriculum. Subsequently, Ms. Zannin became one of two associates of Dr. MacDonell. She has assisted him with more than 10 Bloodstain Evidence Institutes, a 40-hour basic bloodstain pattern interpretation course, as a faculty member and lab instructor. These Institutes are normally taught in Corning, NY, although Ms. Zannin has had the privilege of traveling with Dr. MacDonell to take the Institute to Wilkes-Barre, PA, and to Parma, Italy.

Dr. MacDonell and the Institute on the Physical Significance of Human Bloodstain Evidence certified Ms. Zannin as a Competent Forensic Expert in Bloodstain Pattern Interpretation. Only six certificates have been issued by Dr. MacDonell and the Institute worldwide.

Ms. Zannin is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), International Association for Identification (IAI), International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts (IABPA), and a charter member of International Veterinary Forensic Sciences Association (IVFSA). She is also a member of Women TIES, an organization that helps women business owners promote their companies, exchange corporate success strategies, and inspire each other to higher levels of entrepreneurial success.

Ms. Zannin has been accepted as an expert in both federal and state courts, and has worked on criminal and civil cases in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
